We’re leaving a positive trace on the planet

We are a #ClimatePositiveBusiness!

We’re delighted to announce that Real World Group has partnered with trace (@our_trace) to become a Carbon Positive Organisation! This means that we have measured the carbon emissions of our buildings and travel and offset those emissions through certified carbon credits and tree planting.

As an organisation that cares passionately for our people, our community, and the world in which we live; we knew that we needed to take positive climate action. While we had already undertaken initiatives internally to reduce waste, improve recycling and manage our footprint; we are aware that technology is a carbon heavy industry – and we needed to do more.

In partnership with trace, we completed a thorough carbon impact assessment, taking into account all aspects of our business practice; enabling us to measure our carbon impact. As a result, this year we’re offsetting 689 tonnes of carbon – which is 150% of our measured scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions through a range of projects that have meaningful impacts to our Australian and Global communities.

At Real World we are passionate about sustainability and do what we can to minimise harm to our planet through reducing waste and partnering with climate aware organisations in our supply chain and this represents the next step on our sustainability journey.

You can see our impact and read about the amazing projects we are supporting here.

We’ll be posting more details about our Climate Journey, and how we are working internally with our team and supply chain to reduce the impact of technology on the environment over the coming months.
